Role of Trustees
Trustees hold organisational accountability for Relate Berkshire to the Charity Commission and are responsible for governing the charity and its financial viability. They set policy, assure the range, quality and standard of services and support the Chief Executive.
Trustees are directors of Relate Berkshire and sign up to a code of conduct and actively attend trustee meetings, usually held in the evenings, every six weeks. They act as a support and advice to the Chief Executive and join ad hoc working working parties set up from time to time.

Opportunity for Centre Chair
We are searching for a new Chairman to join our Board as a Trustee prior to election as Chairman at our September AGM.
Relate Berkshire is a registered charity and is a member of the Federation of Relate Centres, supporting adults and young people to resolve troubled marital, personal and family relationships. We have been in existence since the 1930’s and have counselling offices in Reading, Wokingham, Finchampstead, Bracknell, Henley and Newbury.
Through a carefully selected, trained and supervised team of relationship counsellors, therapists and clinical supervisors and a team of appointments and administration staff, we provide over 5000 relationship counselling, sex therapy and assessment appointments each year, together with a range of courses in the local community covering parenting, relationship, listening and communication skills.
There is a full time Chief Executive and the Organisation is governed by a Board of Trustees. We have 7 Trustees, with backgrounds in industry, law, finance, management and HR. Our Chairman, David Gibbons completes his term of office at our AGM in September, 2012.
Relate Berkshire has developed into a strong and vibrant centre and has a history of attracting high quality Trustees and Chairmen.
